Video recording equipment
It can be a regular smartphone, or camera like GoPro or Sony A7IV - or any other device that records video. It could also be a built-in video system located directly in the specific windtunnel. In any case, you need something to record your bodyflying.
Video editing equipment
To view and edit videos of your flights, it's preferable to have a laptop. If you don't have a laptop, a tablet will work. If a tablet isn't available either, you can edit the video directly on the same phone you used to record it. However, working on a small screen is not very convenient. Ideally, you should get a laptop with enough performance to handle video editing software smoothly.
At the stage of assembling the bodyflying routine, music equipment is not yet necessary. You will need it later, when you begin practicing your performance with music.
Music equipment for training and performing
There are various options when it comes to choosing music equipment for training. For shows, organizers are usually responsible for providing the necessary gear. However, you should always bring your own headphones.
To explore the different types of music equipment available, you can follow this link - it’s a broad topic worth a separate overview.
However, if you’re not planning to use music in your routine, there’s no need to worry - this section won’t be relevant for you.
As soon as you arrive at the windtunnel,
After that, do a warm-up exercises outside windtunnel and be ready to go inside! All of these steps will help you prepare your performance routine more effectively.
Place videocamera
First decide where to place your recording equipment. If you plan to use footage from the tunnel’s built-in camera system, make sure to find out how you can access and transfer the files to your own devices for further editing and analysis.
Take a look at where it’s best to mount the camera and from which angle to film your bodyflying, especially if you’re training in one wind tunnel but performing in a different one.
Event and Training windtunnels - similar
Before training, stand the camera where will seats the main audience (or judges), or at least where it can capture the performance from that direction. If that’s not possible, place the camera in any other convenient location.
Event and Training windtunnels - different
If the entrance in your training wind tunnel is positioned differently from the one used in the event, if it possible and comfortable - set up the camera according to the layout of the event wind tunnel. This will help you adapt more quickly, as it will build muscle and visual memory aligned with the directions of elements, tricks, and combinations in the actual event environment.
Start flying sessions
During your first training sessions, feel free to explore different types of improvisation!
These improvisations can be dynamic, freestyle, hybrid, or completely unpredictable - the key is to immerse yourself in the game with the wind. Try bold yet safe elements, express your artistry, and allow creativity to guide your movement!

Transferring the videos to your computer
